PIPE OF PORT - Traditional British
My boyfriend and I went to the Pipe of Port last week, we were told they had a great selection of pies and wine. Between the two of us
we tried both the tomato, vegetable, lentil and bean pie, also the chicken and chestnut pie with dauphhinios potatoes. The pies came out
looking HUGE, much to our delight. Not only were the portions sizes large but the food was delicious and the service was great.
The large variety of wines available is also a massive pro. They have a more informal bar type area as well as the sit down restaurant.
We will definately going back here, both to continue making my way through their wine menu and for another pie. - April 2019

AFFINITY 1777 Traditional British
The company was formed by Husband and Wife - Richard & Gill that had worked for many years together catering in both restaurant and function / event hospitality and were known for their skills and especially - excellent customer service. They thought it was time to go it alone and spend more time enjoying the type of food and service they do best. MAY 22018
Their midweek menu makes this place a total bargain. At around £13 per person, you get a starter, main, rice or naan AND a side! I can never finish it all and they always offer to box it up for me to take home. The owner is great, super friendly and can never do enough for us. They always tailor our dishes to us depending on how hot or mild we want them. The chicken chilli masala or the chicken tikka pathia are definitely to be tried if you like a bit of spice.
RAYLEIGH SPICY - Indian
Quite a small hidden away restaurant, I didn’t know what to expect when I went here for the first time, so I was pleasantly surprised when not only did they cater for my current vegan diet, but the food was amazing! The vegetable jalfrezi that I had was specially made to my spice requirements (hot), was really tasty AND I struggled to finish it all. The staff were so friendly and my friend and I had a great evening there. I will definitely be going back, so glad I found this gem - NOVEMBER 2017
BOGAZ – Turkish, Rayleigh
My favourite Turkish restaurant to eat at. The portion sizes are always very generous and the unlimited supply of bread is always a treat. The last couple of times I’ve been during the week it has been really busy, so I would recommend booking a table! Prices are really reasonable, service is somewhat average, but the tasty food definitely makes up for it! JULY 2017
BABOUSH – Turkish, Chalkwell
The decor was somewhat garish, although I did quite like it. The food was nice, but quite pricey when you’re paying around £20 for a kebab. The cocktails were good, but again, £10 for a cocktail feels like quite a steep price tag. The service wasn’t the best, we waited an hour after having finished our mains and still hadn’t been offered a dessert menu or had our tables cleared. There’s other Turkish restaurants in the area that do much nicer food for a fraction of the price. GAMBERO D'ORO - Italian
Went here for dinner before meeting friends in the pub next door. For starters we had a dish each and shared a garlic bread. We honestly could have just shared the garlic bread to start, the portions were huge! The food was fresh and really tasty, as well as being reasonably priced. The inside is quite small, so be sure to book. It’s nice to have a local independent Italian restaurant on your doorstep. - FEBRUARY 2017
